In Memory of John Humphries
John Humphries
In lieu of flowers, our family invites you to honor John’s memory through a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
When his daughter, Jenny, was born with Cystic Fibrosis, he dedicated himself to helping find a cure. He was among the early founders of the Xtreme Hike, which has since grown into a national fundraising program that has raised tens of millions of dollars for the Foundation. He went from donning his hiking boots to his tuxedo where he was also a devoted supporter of the Master Chefs event, helping connect the Foundation with corporate partners.
Even after retirement, his drive never faded. Last year, he and Anita fulfilled a dream by thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, raising more than $60,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research along the way. He also recently visited Washington, DC where he met with legislators to help advocate for the national Cystic Fibrosis agenda.
What started as a fierce love for his own daughter has extended to countless families over a lifetime of advocacy. He always believed that one day, CF would stand for “Cure Found." We can think of no better way to honor his memory than by continuing the work that meant so much to him. Thank you for helping carry his mission forward.
