Element Fleet is proud to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's (CFF) mission to cure cystic fibrosis (CF). Every Element Fleet employee who contributes to the 65 Roses Campaign during the month of February will receive a rose (a virtual rose for our remote employees). Please consider making a donation directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation directly through our page here by clicking on the donate button.
The "65 Roses" story dates back to 1965 when an observant 4-year-old, Richard "Ricky" Weiss, hearing the name of his disease for the first time, pronounced cystic fibrosis as "65 Roses." Today, "65 Roses" is a term often used by young children with cystic fibrosis to pronounce the name of their disease. To read more about the 65 Roses Story, click here.
What is cystic fibrosis?
In people with cystic fibrosis, a defective gene causes a thick buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. In the lungs, mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria, leading to infections, extensive lung damage, and respiratory failure. For more information about cystic fibrosis, click here.
What is the Mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation?
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with CF the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives by funding research and drug development, partnering with the CF community, and advancing high-quality, specialized care.
If you would like to learn more about the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or cystic fibrosis, please visit their website, www.cff.org.
