Annual Giving Campaign
Emma & Eli Coggans
OUR GOAL IS $5,000
This year, Alabama Ag Credit has chosen the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) for our annual giving campaign. Nominated by Brent Howard, controller, and inspired by a personal and deeply meaningful journey. Nearly twenty years ago, Brent’s niece, Emma, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF) as an infant, and their family was devastated to learn that the average life expectancy for CF patients was just 18 years. Refusing to let fear define their future, the family created “Emma’s Dream Team,” rallying their hometown through fundraisers to support the CFF’s mission of advancing research and treatment. When Brent’s nephew, Eli, was later diagnosed with CF, their efforts expanded, and “Emma and Eli’s Dream Team” worked tirelessly to bring hope to both children’s lives.
Today, the impact of their determination and the CFF’s groundbreaking research is undeniable. Life expectancy for CF patients has risen to 56 years, and Emma and Eli’s stories are nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to new treatments funded by the CFF, Emma now leads a vibrant life as a junior at Montevallo, with her doctor sharing that her condition no longer meets the severity classification for CF. Eli, at 15, is an active athlete excelling in football and basketball, with great promise for his future as he begins the same treatment. By supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, we honor Brent’s family and help ensure that more children with CF can dream of brighter, healthier tomorrows.
