Glennon Family Matching Challenge
Francine & Peter Glennon
Dear Family & Friends,
We have supported the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for many years, and the reason is deeply personal. Our grandson Ryder is now 7 years old and thriving in second grade, benefiting every day from the life-changing advancements made possible by the generosity and commitment of those who invested in a future they could not yet see.
When he was born, we were uncertain of what was to come after Ryder was diagnosed with CF as a newborn. The past 7 years have not been easy, yet because of decades of investment in research, Ryder has benefited from breakthrough therapies that have transformed what life with CF can look like today.
Our family is forever grateful for these supporters, as they changed the path and created a life for our sweet Ryder. While the progress has been remarkable, our work is not finished. Many people with CF still cannot benefit from currently available therapies. The progress we have witnessed proves that research works, but it also reminds us that continued investment is essential.
For that reason, we are excited to announce the launch of our 2026 Glennon Family Matching Challenge. We are committing up to $25,000 to match every gift toward our family matching challenge dollar-for-dollar. We hope you will consider joining us in this effort to help accelerate critical research, advance new therapies, and move us closer to a future where every person with CF can live a long, healthy life, and ultimately, a cure.
In addition, we wanted to share other ways to give and contribute to our family matching challenge:
Double Your Donation - Employer Matching Gift Programs:
- Many employers provide opportunities for their employees to engage with philanthropies of their choice through a variety of programs. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
- To find out what workplace giving opportunities your employer provides, please visit the following website: Workplace Giving and Matching Gifts | Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Reduce Taxable Income by Donating via IRA or RMD:
- Individuals 70 ½ and older can donate directly from their IRA through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). If you are 73 and older, you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA as taxable income, and this can be given as a QCD to reduce your gross taxable income.
- Contact your IRA custodian to initiate a QCD to CFF (Tax ID: 13-1930701)
- Mail checks to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 855 Coleman Blvd. Ste. 102, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464
- Be sure to include a note that this is for Francine & Peter Glennon
- Contact your IRA custodian to initiate a QCD to CFF (Tax ID: 13-1930701)
Donor Advised Funds (DAF):
- Some donors have established a donor-advised charitable fund, which allows you to donate cash, stocks or assets and receive an immediate tax deduction for the full amount of the gift the year it’s established. Those funds are invested for tax-free growth and provide a flexible and easy way to grant donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation once or over time. You can also direct that your donor-advised charitable fund be distributed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation after your lifetime as part of your succession plan and join CFF's Legacy Society.
- You can give directly from your DAF by clicking on the DONATE button on this page and choosing DAF Pay, under the Payment Info section.
- If giving a gift from your DAF not directly through this website, please be sure to include a note that this is for Francine & Peter Glennon.
Stock or Other Securities:
- Stocks, bonds and other securities may be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. When you give long-term appreciated stock you don’t pay capital gains on the transfer when the stock is sold, and you receive an immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value on the date of the transfer.
- Download CFF's In-Kind Stock Transfer Form
- Be sure to include a note that this is for Francine & Peter Glennon
